Editing Your Company Name and DBA

If you have edits to your company name or DBA, you will need to make those changes in your SAM record, and then use the "View/Import from SAM" in the vendor application to import those changes into VIPR (see "Importing Company Information from SAM into VIPR").

IMPORTANT - The company name and DBA are automatically imported into VIPR from the SAM record that is associated with the vendor UEI that you provided when you registered in the vendor application or if you use the "View/Import from SAM" button. - Once the information in these fields is imported into VIPR from SAM, you will be unable to edit these fields in the vendor application. Any changes you make to the fields will need to be made in your SAM record and then imported into VIPR from SAM. Remember that it takes SAM several business days to process your changes before those changes will be available to import from SAM into VIPR.

 

IMPORTANT If you make changes to your company name or DBA in your SAM record AFTER you receive an award, those changes can be picked up when you respond to a modification or through an Administration modification, but you MUST first use the "View/Import from SAM" button to import those changes from your SAM record into VIPR. This means modifications that do not require a vendor's response, (i.e. Suspend Resource mod, Terminate resource mod, etc.) except for Administration modifications, will not pick up the company name or DBA changes.

To import your company name or DBA changes from SAM into VIPR:

1. Access the My Company page and click on the View/Import from SAM button. The VIPR/SAM Company Information Comparison dialog appears and highlights differences between the information found in VIPR versus the information found in the SAM record.
2. Click the Import button to import any changes that you made in your SAM record into VIPR.

IF these fields are editable in the vendor application, then SAM may have been unavailable when you registered in the vendor application OR you registered in the vendor application after VIPR was interconnected with SAM and you have not used the "View/Import from SAM" button, yet.

IF you need to edit these fields in the vendor application in order to submit a quote, and the fields are editable, then you can edit them; HOWEVER, at some point, you will need to use the "View/Import from SAM" button to ensure this company information in VIPR matches the company information in SAM.

IMPORTANT Your company name and DBA in VIPR MUST match the company name and DBA that is in your SAM record or you will be ineligible to receive an agreement from VIPR or respond to a modification to an agreement. You can use the "View/Import from SAM" button in the My Company page to import the information from SAM into VIPR.

Below are instructions for editing the company name and DBA in the vendor application.

1. Access the Edit Company Information wizard by doing one of the following:
• From the Home tab, click on the Edit Company Information icon.
• From the My Company tab, click on the Edit Company Information button.
2. In the Edit Company Info step, update your company name and DBA, and then click the Save and Continue button to move forward in the wizard.
   
   You do not have to proceed through the rest of the steps in the wizard.
3. Click the Exit button. Your updates are saved in VIPR.
